What we believe

We want to be a fellowship of believers where true, authentic relationships can be experienced and enjoyed

The statements below are not a set of rules we abide by, but a snapshot of the type of community we are pursuing as a body of believers in Christ.

Jesus Christ and the Cross

This is our primary focus—the New Covenant message of Life and Grace. Each Sunday, we strive to unpack more of what this means to us as believers and how we can apply it in our daily lives. Like Paul, in 1 Corinthians 2:2, we “desire to know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified”. This is the heart of what we want to teach, understanding our union with Christ and our new identity in Him.

A community of grace

You’ll hear that phrase a lot at New Life Fellowship. That’s because we are intentional about forming a community of grace where the Life of Jesus can be shared uniquely through His people beyond just Sunday mornings. We know the truths we learn need to be lived out and that is done most through community—so we can experience grace, love and the life of Jesus through each other.

Prayer and worship

We pray to and worship our God because we have more confidence in His love and grace than anything in this world. God is bigger than anything else we face. Whether it’s a circumstance, sin, a struggle or fear, our God is greater. We truly believe He has the power to overcome and bring transformation in our lives.

We value people way more than programs

We aren’t in this to fill seats and to keep a machine running. We don’t want to get stuck in that trap. Programs are merely the tools we use to connect to and love others through. They are a vehicle by which we get to be together and invest in each other’s lives.

We want to live out our freedom

Because of grace, we have the complete freedom to try things, experiment, make a mess, be a mess and fail. We’re not trying to be perfectly polished and cleaned up.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously

We take God and relationships seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We want to have fun, laugh and enjoy this life together.

You are free to struggle

We want everyone to be honest with what they’re feeling. We don’t want to put on the mask and try to convince everyone around us that we’re ‘fine’ when we clearly aren’t. We want everyone to feel free to just be themselves, wherever they are at.

We encourage, but don’t demand, vulnerability

Everything we do is by invitation. We don’t want to force anyone to do anything, but we encourage believers to open up and be vulnerable enough so that we can be truly known by one another.

We want New Life Fellowship to be a safe place

We are working to create a safe place where we get to know one another and earn each other’s trust. We want to foster an environment where we can fail, have conflict or have doubts, but always feel welcome and loved.

It’s not our job to fix you

We will love others no matter the level of maturity, inviting them to grow; standing with and protecting one another, not trying to fix them. It’s God’s job to bring us to maturity and to bring transformation in our lives.
