The church has a lost history with struggling with understanding the separation of the New Covenant from the Old Covenant. And one of the areas where this happened the most is with the area of giving. By importing the Old Covenant idea of tithing into the New Covenant church, we are missing the heart behind giving and the opportunity to trust Jesus in how much, or how little, to give.

And with that poor understanding of money, it is bound to control us - leaving us feeling empty and broke in our soul.
